What Our Patients Say

I have been seeing Dr. Walker since 2023. I have been impressed with his knowledge and passion on the subject of ADHD and how it impacts those who have the condition.

It took a couple of appointments before I was prescribed any medications, but that to me was not an issue. Dr. Walker discusses my behaviors with me and how my ADHD plays a part in my life. I have appreciated the sessions where I have “been given homework” so to speak because I’ve found it helpful. I do like that Dr. Walker holds me accountable for my own behaviors. I feel he and I have established a good rapport during my treatment. I would highly recommend him to those who are dealing with ADHD and need help managing it in their lives.

Life-Changing Care from Dr. Walker

Like many, the pandemic gave me time to reflect, and I began to suspect that I had ADHD—something that had likely been affecting me for most of my life. After over a year of research and discussions with my husband and business partner, I finally made an appointment with Dr. Walker. From that first visit, it was an incredible relief to realize that I wasn’t just failing at life—there was an explanation, and more importantly, a way forward.

I noticed improvements almost immediately, and after working with Dr. Walker for over a year, the changes have been undeniable. My husband, friends, and business partner all see a difference in my ability to focus, follow through, and truly complete tasks. More than just providing a diagnosis and a prescription, Dr. Walker offers ongoing coaching that has been essential to my mental and emotional well-being. A happy side effect? My business grew by over 200% in just one year!

I only wish I had sought help sooner, but I can’t change the past—what I can do is encourage anyone who is struggling and wondering if ADHD might be holding them back: don’t wait. Dr. Walker has truly changed my life for the better. He and Kathleen are always attentive and keep me informed about scheduling changes without being intrusive—something I deeply appreciate.

If you’re on the fence, take the leap. You won’t regret it!

Dr walker is wonderful and very thorough. I have appreciated his approach to diagnosing and treating my adult ADHD as well as learning about his research in this field. I have felt validated, educated and supported through all of my treatment and have taken so much away from our time together.

As someone who struggled with anxiety, disrupted sleep, unawareness of what was causing my hyper verbal tendencies, and many other symptoms of adhd, I was apprehensive to the use of medication. As certain medications had not helped these symptoms in the past. Dr walker was patient and informative, stepping me into a routine that I felt comfortable with slowly and methodically and WOW – what a difference this has made in my life in a very short time. I realize only now all the ways I was self medicating and struggling for most of my life.

I believe his approach is effective and thoughtful and would feel comfortable recommending him without hesitation to anyone who thinks they might need help addressing or clarifying if adhd is effecting their ability to function fully in their day or impeding on their health and overall wellness.

Scheduling and payment with his office manager Kathy is simple and streamlined and her communication is always prompt and crisp. Of course I wish they took insurance, but many specialists (including two of the other offices I was recommended by my primary care doctor for initial testing) do not. So, if you can make the room on your budget for yourself or your family I believe it is a worthy investment of your time and money.

Dr. Walkers ADHD program combined with the medication has been very effective in improving my life with ADHD, provided I follow through and apply the tools given to my day to day life.

I appreciate that his program isn’t a “ here take this medication” and is instead uses medication+self accountability approach.

I look forward to seeing more improvements in my life as I get better applying what I learn from him in my life.

I can’t share enough about the outstanding service Dr. Walker and staff have provided. I had spent much of my life unaware of how my thought and behavioral patterns were impacted by ADD. Dr. Walker spent several hours with me to help advance my understanding. While under his care, I have been promoted multiple times at work, launched a new business, and been nominated as President of a local institution. My life has benefited greatly by Dr. Walker and I highly recommend him.

I am so happy that I found Dr. Walker! I have been seeing him for a number of years now, and i would highly recommend him to anyone. He has helped me come to terms with my ADD in a way that has helped me embrace the condition rather than be ashamed of it. He is extremely knowledgeable and has provided me with numerous tips and tricks to master not just my school life, but my home life as well. It’s safe to say that I’m living my best, most organized life because of him and his team.

Kathleen absolutely rocks. She promptly returns all phone calls and emails, and will try her best to work you into the schedule if there is ever an emergency. I owe a ton of my newfound success to this practice and hope that anyone reading this will do themselves a favor and make the appointment with Dr. Walker!

Dr. Walker is one of just a few doctors with an in depth understanding of the cause, course, and treatment of ADHD. I first sought treatment for ADHD with my PCP. I had numerous unsuccessful trials, and I know my experience is not unique. Physicians have so many ailments they need to treat, and so many medications to be aware of, it is no surprise they cannot achieve proficiency in each and every case. Dr. Walker understands ADHD as a patient and as a psychiatrist, and his specialization in the area makes him a great resource for anyone suffering from ADHD.

After having spent my whole life being misdiagnosed, finding Dr Walker has been life changing. With the correct diagnosis of ADHD and being on the right medications, I am able to live without the depression and anxiety I was previously diagnosed with. I am now able to stay organized with his guidance and feel accomplished at the end of each day! Thanks Dr. Walker.

Excellent practice!! Dr. Walker has been incredible to work with and with his help, my career has taken off. I went without any medication for over a decade and with his help, I was able to find what worked best for me and I cannot thank him enough. I truly believe that I would not be where I am today without his help. He has changed my life.

Dr. Walker and Kathleen have been great to work with. They both have gone the extra mile no matter the circumstances and situation. Dr. Walker is personable and easy to get along with. I would highly recommend him but go ahead and try for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!!!

I have enjoyed my experience with Dr Walker and his office staff. Kathleen has been extremely helpful and responsive. The team is very good about setting expectations and communicating in advance. For example, about varied hours around holidays. They know how to work with folks that have ADHD and the process is smooth and easy to work with.

In the last 4 months working with Dr Walker I have managed to complete two sections of a basement remodel, we can park in the garage for the first time since we moved in, and I have lost almost 25 lbs. These improvements are directly related to having the proper medication and guidance of this staff. Thank you!

I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child but only took medication and then stopped for a while. After nearly failing a few classes in high school my mom reinitiated my medication regiment (much to my disliking). My grades started to get much better; but there were some things with which I still struggled. Fast forward a few years, I graduated from UK with a finance degree and got into law school. I am currently in my 3rd year of law school and clerking. I noticed for the extent of my day (15-18 hours) my medication was not working nor did I have the tools to organize my day. I sought the help of Dr. Walker and while he helped me manage my medication properly and he did much more. He is training me to prioritize my tasks, build a calendar so not to stress/obsess/forget deadlines, and schedule personal time for a balance in my life. It is worth the investment in my schooling, future career and overall well-being. I fully believe he has helped me control my ADD. I would definitely recommend Dr. Walker.

Dr.Walker is a very nice and caring physician. He allows you to speak on any concerns you have in regards to your condition. And will give you the best advice that he can in order to help you. I really appreciate everything that he and his staff have done for me and my family regarding my ADD.

I used to go to Dr. Walker for ADD. He was very helpful and straightforward with things I needed to change. He helped me utilize an online calendar to help me stay organized and gave me great advice on day-to-day activities.

I have tried many different medications that gave me terrible side effects such as, headache, dizziness, trembling hands, tiredness, mood swings, etc. However, Dr. Walker was the first doctor who prescribed me a medicine that actually helped me focus without harsh side effects.

The only downside to his services is the price because my insurance did not reimburse me. However, I do know he offers coupons for medications & some insurances reimburse or discount the price…

I would recommend Dr. Walker to anyone who has ADD or ADHD who wants to seek help for themselves. You need to have a positive mindset and motivation to be able to succeed well with his help.

When I started working with Dr. Walker, I was well on my way to a failed (expensive) attempt to complete a 90-hour masters degree. A combined strategy of medication and a transformative approach to restructuring the way I approached even the smallest details of my day-to-day life allowed me to successfully complete the degree (turning around my academic situation so that I will be eligible to enroll in a doctoral program next year) and to find success in my work then and to continue successfully in my new career now. I am beyond grateful.

I have two sons who are under the care of Dr. Walker, and we have had a very positive experience thus far. Is he a miracle worker? Absolutely not. Responsibly treating ADHD takes time, commitment and constant reevaluation to get results. I have to say that I greatly appreciate the fact that on our first visit to him, he did not write a script for my children. This has been in stark contrast to other physicians who have simply given us random prescription medication and basically said, “Best of luck. Call the office next month when you need a refill.” What?!? Dr. Walker’s view on medication is that it’s just a part of the treatment protocol. Pills don’t teach skills. My husband and I are currently working on tailoring our parenting to create a happy, harmonious home environment with children who have ADHD–not an easy endeavor. It’s a process, and we are getting there one visit at a time.

I also want to add that Kathleen is truly an amazing office manager. Her communication skills are top notch. Anytime I have called or e-mailed the office during working hours, she has responded within an hour, and she has always done her best to accommodate my requests.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Walker’s for 3 years. In those 3 years my life has seen dramatic, traumatic, and truly wonderful changes. It is no exaseration on my part that without the guidance and care of Dr. Walker I would never have found the strength, willingness, and confidence to face my challenges with a sense of calm, acceptance, and personal responsibility.
The combination of medication and talk therapy helped me to understand that my natural state of ADHD can be, and has been, under control to such a positive and sustainable level that my personal relationships have improved to include the trust of my family, friends, and co-workers. Trust was something that was missing from my life until I started working with Dr. Walker.
Working with Dr. Walker is an accurate statement. He expects, and rightly so, that his patience’s understand he can guide but the real work must be done by the patient.

There are no easy fixes for living with ADHD. He understands life with ADHD. His willingness to discuss his own experiences helped me understand that my life and experiences were within a shared experience with others who live with ADHD.

I no longer suffer from ADHD. I live with it, with how I think, with how I react, and with who I am with the strength of self esteem. It’s my self esteem, but it is great to have Dr. Walker on my side.

Dr. Walker is a clinician who is truly passionate about his field of study, as well as his patients. He has demonstrated a deep understanding of environmental and physiological changes over time that contribute to prevalence and presentation of ADD/ADHD in todays society. Dr. Walker has developed a treatment approach, that while tailored to individuals, applies behavioral modification skills and medicine (if needed) to optimize outcomes of patients of all ages. I am confident that those exposed to his interventions will learn the skills they need now, and in the future, so as to be the very best versions of themselves. I would highly recommend Dr. Walker.

Dr Walker was amazing. He truly understood what my son was feeling and any barriers he had in life. There were issues that my son would only talk to him about. He has a better knowledge of ADHD than any other doctor we have had experience with and there have been many.

I wanted to let you know that I recently received the highest honor in my department that a graduate student can receive. One of my professors nominated me for “most impactful research in an area of my research” and the faculty votes on the candidates. No one has ever received this award within their first two years, but they voted on it at the end of my first semester and I received it! I think back to the first time I sat on your couch and can’t believe how far I’ve come. I wouldn’t be here if you hadn’t coached me through and helped me navigate what feels like a battle against my own brain.

What a life-changing revelation it was to learn of my ADHD diagnosis and seek treatment from Dr. Walker. He has an inclusive and specific treatment plan as well as an overall mission to guide his patients towards their own personal balance. He explains the thoughts, behaviors, and underlying emotions of ADHD in a clear and relatable fashion. As a fellow ADHD brain, Dr. Walker knows first-hand the struggles and successes possible for his patients and teaches us to form our own system to keep all the moving parts in order in our lives. I consider myself privileged and blessed to be on the road to my fullest potential under the psychiatric care of Dr. Walker.

Dr. Walker, you have been a great sounding board for my son these past few years and has helped him through some tough times. It has been times like these where we, his parents, get to see how folks like Dr. Walker go above and beyond treating patients more than just a person or a payment, but almost like family. Thus, thanks to the whole office!

Dr. Walker, you are making a huge difference in a young man’s life! I am seeing big, positive changes in my son. His attitude is more positive. He is gaining self-esteem and is more reasonable. He has connected with you like he has never connected with anyone ever before. You have been able to build a fire under him like I could never do and I am eternally thankful. He listens to you and is able to follow through with your suggestions. After your appointments, he starts out by playing it cool, but as he tells me about your session he becomes more animated, excited, hopeful and happy. It is a beautiful thing to experience. Keep up the good work!

I just simply and truly feel grateful every single day. You made all the difference in the world in my life just simply by attending to my needs. Thank you for your patience and supportive attitude at all the times.

Just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your help and describe to you the specifics regarding the productivity and life improvements that meeting with you has afforded me. When I first met with you, my life was largely in disarray. I was pursuing my life’s dream but I was doubtful that I would succeed. It seemed that the chips were stacked against me. I was not very effective at my position and my symptoms limited my focus, enthusiasm and ability to stay on task. I constantly felt that I had ‘too many irons in the fire’ and was consistently over-extended. Since I’ve begun meeting with you, the Director at my program has personally noted my accomplishments and has been “impressed” (his wording) at my ability to see tasks through to completion and extrapolate my efforts for the benefit of the team. I’m ecstatic! I have goals that require considerable effort to achieve after I am finished with my training in Louisville and I’m glad to say that I’m ahead of schedule to meet them; before we began our relationship, I was skeptical I could succeed in such a competitive field – now I am ahead of the game and my peers. I am thankful for finding you and developing our relationship. I couldn’t have done it without
you!
